The engine is only running on 3 cylinders...the second one is not firing

Ok heres what ive checked...

swapped spark plugs, and checked gapsswapped coil packsremoved coil pack from cyl 2, put an extra plug in it and touched it to ground, started motor and still had no spark.

I also did a compression test and the cylinder passed, and it is getting fuel, so it IS electronic. it is obvious that its not gettting spark. I think it must be the ignitor chip or the ecu. What are my next steps before i replace the chip and/or ecu?

I had the same problem and I figured out my coil pack plug was corroded not allowing a good connection, You might take it apart and clean it or if it's to bad you can hard wire it. I did that to mine and it hasen't given me a minutes problem since. Hope this helps

Ignitor chip could have burned out on the 2nd cylinder. Check and see if your getting voltage off the ignitor for 2nd cylinder.

Ya, Thats exactly how mine sounded, I was down a cylinder, like I said before one of my coil connectors was deteriated to the point there was no connection. So I'd check the coil harness for any broken wires!!
