91 ka24de m/t 240 just suddenly decided it doesnt want to start. Over the last few days I have read a lot of topics in search and followed as best I could procedures in the FSM. It is not showing any codes. I have power to the crank position sensor, the coil, the power transistor, but I dont have any spark at all coming from the coil to the distributor. But yet when I measured the resistance on the coil it checked out with .7 as indicated in the FSM. I checked the resistance in the coil to dist. wire also. I am stumped. I hate to get into the change a part to see if it works mode. But it seems as if it is a bad coil.
Any thoughts? Also the advance auto store carries 2 coils, 1 from Hitachi, and 1 from Mitsibushi, the hitachi is much cheaper for some reason, does anyone know if they are car specific? I wouldnt think so, but you never know. Mine has a mitsibushi on it now.
