1996 nissan 240sx, 5 spd, ka24de

Im new to this site, but im a member at 240sxforums. And so far im not getting much help there.

But here is the deal. I had my engine completely rebuilt. Shop screwed around for 5 months, so i took my engine car, and parts to a friends house. (engine already timed and all that at shop before i took it.) Me and friend checked the timing on the engine before we assembled the rest of it and it was good. after a week we got it in the car. Hooked everything up. double checked all the wiring and everything.

Well i have fuel. All my fuses are good. Grounds are all connected. (btw... can someone give me a list of where all the grounds are for the engine wiring harness on a 95-98 s14?)

I replaced my distributor cap, rotor, wires, and plugs, and i still have no spark. I rotated my distributor all around within the notches and still nothing, not even a weak spark. Wiring is getting power.

Only thing that i know of that isnt hooked up is my knock sensor. And that couldnt be the problem.

Now what i was told is that if you pull ur distributor off, and spin the shaft, you should hear a small clicking noise, meaning its good... when i spin the shaft on mine, there is no noise, and it feels like its catching on something.... cause it will spin about 3/4 turn and for about a 1/4 turn, it has a little tension to it.

Does this mean my distributor is bad???

Sorry that its a long post, but im trying to give you guys as much detail as possible.

But please, can someone give me a list of where all the grounds should be located in the engine bay? I appreciate it.

get your ignition module checked first at your parts store if not that then i wouild have to say it is your distributor or your coil check and make sure you r getting power from the coil
