Ok, so i just recently put an SR20DE in my s13 240sx and wired everything up correctly but i dont have any spark. I checked it from the coil, nothing. Could my ECU be bad? i used the guide to wire everything up from this site...

http://www.frsport.com/sr20det....html

i did everything it said. How do i check if there is power going into the coil. and how can i check the ECU?

I'm in the same boat right now, no spark, check your COIL, search this forum how to test it, it's a good place to start.

No CAS in a sr20de. I would check the ecu plug it self. I know my swaps plug was broken and bent. I ended up having to use zip ties to secure it completely to the ecu and get a good signal for everything to work. Just a thought. I really know nothing about the DE.

can i switch to CAS? it will be expensive probably, but would it be better if possible? and im thinking my ecu is bad. i hope not. but if i take the ecu completly off, nothing changes-fuel pump runs, engine turns over, no spark of course. there is no difference in the way the car acts with or without the ecu. i wish there is a way to test if the ecu is functioning fully, maybe there is, idk.

I edited my previous post, and yes switching to CAS might mean also getting coil packs and different ECU and other things. But you can always test your COIL and see if it's acting as it;s supposed to.

i tried everything until i had nothing else to try except the ecu. i called the guy i bought the engine from and since my waranty hadnt run out he sent me another ecu. once i plugged it in, it started right up. but try everything you can before you buy a new ecu unless you have a warranty like me.
