Ok so here's the deal..... I have a 92 SR which has just been fully built because i spun two bearings due to getting 2 gallons of gas in the oil. Everything in my car was running perfect and then 4 months later when i put everything back together I had no spark. When it was rebuilt I added a new GT2540R turbo, 555cc tomei injectors, Q45 MAF, all internals, GReddy front mount, and I have two stand alones which both give the same results (Apex'I PowerFC, which i plan on using and the Modification Analysis and Developement stand alone i Used before which i wana sell if anyone is interested). Cam angle sensor, coil packs, and ignitor chip were all kept the same. I have a pulse to all the coil packs as well as the injectors and the PowerFC Commander does light up telling me the ECU is getting power. I'm not too familiar with the PowerFC so i duno if there's a way to possibly trouble shoot through that or not. I have not yet checked the ignitor chip because I don't know how, but i'm sure I can look it up some where on here. So when it comes down to it i have a signal to the coil packs but nothing coming out. There are three wires into each of them. I assume they are power, ground, and some type of sensor. Any ideas would be great even if they are far fetched because they could always spark new ideas. Please give your $.02

have you tried to read codes from the stock ecu? code 21 means you have a bad ignitor chipi had a no spark problem a year ago and thats how i solved it.

Stock ECU was sold over a year ago. So i search search and searched all day for any info about testing my ignitor chip, but i came up dry. I thought there'd be loads of info some where about testing the ignitor chip. Also I read briefly that the coils should be 9 omhs each, can anyone back that up? Another detail.... i gave my ignitor chip to my buddy to use and he used it for a month with no problem and then it sat for another 2 months before i used it again. My coil packs also sat around quite a while, but i HIGHLY doubt all 4 would go bad at the same time. This 400+ hp monster needs to come alive hellllllllpppp!!!

the s14 FSM tells you how to check the ignitor using a multimeter

so you have a friend who owns a SR? you could also test your ignitor chip on his car, or try his on your car and see if that solves the problem anyways here is it. merry christmas

If your ignitor is bad then your car will not start because the ECU sends a trigger signal to the ignitor and the ignitor amplifies the voltage to the positive side of the coil. So ask your friend if you can put his ignitor on your car to see if thats the problem.

So i put my buddy's ignitor chip and it didn't help. I then went digging for answers.... At the coil connector i tested the "E", "+", and "-" connections on the clip. (E - + are the symbols written on top of the coils from left to right) I got the following results:

E : I had constant ground+ : key on, i had positive voltage; key off i had a ground- : I had nothing at all, no ground, no power. So then I grounded out the "-" directly and it still didn't help.

From what i gather, I should had a signal pulse on "E" right? One of the other techs. at my shop looked at it with me and was wondering if I had a crank sensor and I'm 99% sure the SR20DET doesn't have one. Correct me if I'm wrong please. Also, what's the stock position for the knock sensor? It's under my intake close to the front of the engine now.

Tomorrow I'm going to try my other stand alone system, but I doubt that will help. I really don't want to start to rip wires apart looking for breaks. If anyone off the top of their head has a pin out of the ECU as well please post it, if not no biggie I haven't searched yet. Been too busy at the moment. I appreciate it guys and gals.

recheck to make sure all the ground wire hooked up and have a good ground. a bad ground will cause a lot of problem.

Obviously... I'm way beyond that point. ECU is powering up, i think I'll have to check continuity between all the wires under the hood to the ECU next. IDEAS?
