Car has ran once since the head swap, it ran for about 20secs and then lost all spark. Coil has power, power gets the cap and then to the rotor, but never reaches the plug wires??? Everything worked just fine before I did the head swap, distributor has only 95k miles on and cap & rotor have 3k miles. I am getting frustrated, nothing has seemed to work. I have switched ecu's, reset them and still nothing. Engine is getting gas, timing is correct to my knowledge, at TDC the rotor is on #1, I dont know what to do, pleases help quickly.

90 block with a 93 head, I am using the SOHC distributor.

are your cams still timed right? the SOHC dist runs off the crank so if the cams jumped you wouldnt know without pulling the V/C and visually inspecting them.

as far as i know, my cams are still timed right. I lined up the marks on the pulleys with the marks on the chains, so i dont think they would of jumped. Could it have an effect on having no spark if I didnt line them up on the crank, because I think I did, but Im not sure if the stayed in the right spot when I went to put the head on.

#1 on which stroke? when its pointed to #1 are the cams lined up still? i cant imagine you get spark at the rotor button and not the wires. thats bizarre.

I know its bizarre, its got me stumped. I guess I can pull off the valve cover and check the cams, and its on #1 on the compression stroke.

i just pulled the valve cover off, and something is completely out of whack. At TDC the cam lobs are pointing out on cyclinder 4 and in on cyclinder 1, the rotor is lined up with #4 on the cap. I think I might have put the lower timing chain on wrong???
