I originally posted this in the tech forum but someone said I should post it here:

Okay, here's what happened. We finished up an engine swap from a 1990 auto 240sx into a 1989 auto 240sx (both ka24e) and it started up and ran. It wouldn't rev past 2500 though. Swapped the MAF. The next day, I go to start it, and it cranks but doesn't start. There's no power going to the plugs, and the coil wire doesn't arc either. I thought it not revving past 2500 would be a MAF problem, but why would it not get spark all of a sudden?

Also when key is left in on position after starting, there's a LOUD ticking noise coming from the back of the ECCS unit.

no spark...dist, power transistor, ecm, coil, etc.i dont have a manual on hand for the sohc motor. you need to check for a signal from the dist. pull it out and turn it with the key on. if the injectors start clicking then the signal is making it out of the dist. then make sure its getting to the coil(multimeter). before any of this you should check power and ground to all the above.
