I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. My lil brother is into these cars he was the orig owner and he wanted my neon so we traded and i got the short end of the stick needless to say, he blew up the head. He replaced the head and reead a theard that you can use two exh cams. so he put in the 248/248 and then lost spark.I researched it a lil and then retimed it. still nothing then he tells me he got a ecu and wiring harness from a 93 and it just needs to go in. not the case, so i found out cause the plugs are different, but techniquely it would solve the problem of no spark do to exterrnal coil.

I just need to be directed so i can get this car running so i dont feel that i got ripped off cause my neon dogd this car when it was running but i figured it will be a nice change.

if your running a s13 harness on it there are some major differences with the ignition design. Is you coil, dizzy, ect plugged in? You don't have any empty plugs do you? Check everything with a multimeter make sure everyything is getting power. If you want stock cams I have a set for $20 bucks plus shipping.

PS if you need any help with anything I've listed just email me at [email protected], connected directly to my blackberry so I'll be sure to give you a fairly quick response. Also he deff is the one with the short end of the stick, he's stuck with FWD (Fail Wheel Drive) lol

Im up for trying the coil but how do i replace just the coil when its built into the distributer, My wires to the coil read out 11.2v and 1.2ohms the other plug that has six wires dosent read ne thing but i figured the car would need to run for that plug to work. i know stupid but nothing was changed wiring or sensor wise just the cams so didnt see why it would go bad over a weeks worth of down time.

Had an Idea just let me know if ne one has tried it. What if i take the external coil and hook it up put the cap and rotor on the factory dist. and cut the one stem off do you think that could be a possible way of replacing the coil or am i better off spending the money and buying a new dist. just throwing it out there
