Hi,

I'm new to Nissan and this forum. I bought a 2009 Rogue S about a month ago and it has been great so far. What i noticed when the low gas light comes on, I do not hear a ding or anything at all! One time, the low tire pressure light came on and the same thing happened, no sound.

The car rings when I leave the keys or the headlights on while the driver's door is open. Do Nissan Rogues alarm you with a sound when a light comes on the dash board? Is there a dial or a fuse that I need to be aware of to fix this?

Thank you

there is no chime/alarm when the light is low, nor for the TPMS. your eyes should be on the dash every 10-15seconds anyway to check your speed. during that time you should be able to notice any warning lights that may have ignited.

i know the level of my fuel at all times, and can predict when its gonna be on the last 2 dashes(enough to light up the low-level light.)

PS: welcome to the forums!!! :)

No, there's no warning ding for those events.

Did not know this. Interesting. I guess I don't drive the Rogue enough to pick up on these little things.

The Lancer spoils me :P

i am happy that nissan continues to remain chime free. have any of you ever driven a toyota? that car chimes about everything. it drives you up a wall if you opt not to wear a seat belt. i am surprised a toyota doesnt start honking the horn at every hot woman it drives past.

Thank you for your quick replays. If it's only the low fuel and TPMS, then I am not worried about it at all. I was mostly concerned if something major like a check engine light or if something fails and causes the engine to over heat then I expect the car to yell at me. I like reasonable beeps and alarms.

you cant read gauges? there is a temp gauge right in front of you - check it every now & then, and you will be fine. the more a car is programmed to beep and warn you - the less responsibility you take upon yourself, knowing something will just warn you. the less things you check on your own, relying upon things that can fail = the more disaster you face.

wake up, and get into the ritual:
1. every-time you start the car: check your fuel level
2. every traffic light: check your gauges for the temp gauge, check engine lights, etc.
3. every 15-20mins on the highway, find a straightaway, and check your cluster for any lights/errors/temp issues.

PS: your check engine light doesnt make any chimes either.

I CANNOT STAND cars that F'ing beep, beep, beep, when you or the passenger, especially the passenger don't buckle the seat belt. When I test drove the Rogue I checked for those specifically.

BTW I'm watching the Florida vs FGCU basketball game and the Florida cheerleaders are just like I remember them from years ago, D**M HOT!!

Reminds me of my '82 Dodge Challenger Technica.

Had an annoying female voice that told you when you left your lights on or door open. Named her Stella, in honor of Harcourt Fenton Mudd's wife, who drove him into space. (Yes, I'm a Trekkie!)
