i just installed a double din head unit from a 1999 altima into my 1992 240sx today, and wired everything up according to: http://www.installdr.com/Harne...g.pdf

the only wires not hooked up (referring to the 95+ harness) are letters:BHLNthe radio is not connected either, but i have no desire for the radio, just for the cd player.

everything else works on the head unit works, nothing seems to be bad, except i just get no sound from the speakers. so my theorys were:occasionly the stereo seems to turn its self off, so maybe my ground is not good?

my 2nd theory is, the previous owner might of switched up the + and - wires on the speaker end, since everything is wired correctly on the head unit side, would this be a reason why there is no sound?

any help you guys can give would be great, thanks!

Does your car have the Active System (or came with it originally). If so, you will need to connect the amp turn on lead too. If the deck you added doesn't have one, you will need to hotwire it in some way.By the way, you are truly doing this the hard way as there are adapter harnesses to plug newer Nissan radios in to the older type harness.

Cross wiring between + and - wires will still permit sound to emit through the speakers. You may have a loose wiring at the speakers or at the headunit.
