no sound from radio?

does this happen to anyone? my wife is driving the car today and she called me earlier. Said all she hear is static, volume is up to 18 so it can't be muted, CDs, radio will indicate as if it's playing but no sound but static. I think this happened once b4 when she drove the car when we first bought it. But she's been driving for a week straight w/ no issues ...... I got the Bose

nope..never happened to me. maybe call the dealer? but with your luck when you do take it, the damn this will be working and they'll say...there's nothing wrong with the radio

That happened to me once. I have the bose system too. I was playing a cd and everything went quiet. The cd was still tracking, and there was a light static sound. I turned the stereo off and on, parked and went shopping. when I came back I still had the same problem. Everything worked fine after I changed the cd. ????

Yeah what that actually is, is a "safety" feature. Basically when the pre-amp processor senses a spike or fq shft that is out of spec, that could potentially damage the speakers, it'll cut the output. You can check it out on th BOSE technology website.

There's a song on one of my MP3 discs that I can get this to happen about 1/2 the time. Usually a reset (off/on) fixes it..give it a few seconds...
