How do you find out the condition of the refrigerant without the use of the sight glass? I notice that my '95 pickup does not have one on the accumulator/dryer.

Not sure what you mean by "condition". Quality? Dryness?
You have to look at the pressures produced by the system while its working.
If you want to check the charge level, you will have to recover the system and see the weight, then recharge to the correct level.
The days of adding R-12 until the bubbles stop are long gone.

Thanks much, the gauges are on order. I didn't know the charge level, but I have gone to the low pressure side and tried to activate the Schrader valve and I do have pressure. I have the Haynes book and the figures for the charge amount. This is a new process for me. Thank you for your help!

Check out the factory service manual for information too... www.nissanservicemanual.com

For that year it may be combined with the Pathfinder manual.
