hows it going everyone one i have a question
I was driving my 1992 240SX superHicas auto and i got it stuck in a lot of mud after reversing out and driving out I drove away and now my car wont reverse, its like another Nutral gear
what could be wrong??
drive and 1 and 2nd work
but not reverse??:help :help :help :help
no reverse?

Heh, well, you can't make a blanket statement like that without at least a little more info - does the transmission make any unusual noise, or does it just spin up exactly like neutral? I don't know autos that well, but maybe you broke something in the valve body, or some bit inside the transmission proper...even if it's not shot though, you're going to have to crack the casings, if you can't do the work yourself go find a junker and scrounge the transmission - the swap is rather easy, you just need a transmission jack or a big guy who can hold ~200 lbs up comfortably.

Most people cannot fix an auto transmission themselves. If they could, they wouldn't be here asking if it is shot.
My experience with replacing valve bodies, pumps, and various broken parts in autos is that if you don't rebuild and clean the entire thing out, something else will go very shortly. So instead of telling people to take it out, tear it down themselves(which they probably can't do), and put it back together, it is easier to say it is shot.
