No reverse lights 2001 QX4

A salvaged 2001 car is the gift that keeps on giving. Today I learned that I have no reverse lights.

The guy at the oil change place said they weren't working, but today my brother in-law said they are supposed to be in the back panel around the license plate.

Mine must be using the wrong back panel, or maybe the wrong trunk door entirely, I don't know.

Anyway, I took it apart a bit to see if there were wires to connect to reverse lights if I buy a replacement and I did find one plug that wasn't connected to anything but I'm not sure what it is. I've taken a photo and I'll attach it.

It looks too big to just be reverse lights, but I'm no expert.

Yep, that looks like the wrong insert panel. On an '01 reverse lamps should be alongside the plate on each side, in the lower corners. That looks like the panel from a '00, which had the backups in the combo lamps. Not sure if you can swap the insert panels, it may be a whole wrong door. Anybody know?
