so yeah the other day when i was on the dyno i found out i didnt have a Rev limiter but then once i dorve it around on the road i hit 6900rpms(SAFCII) and i have been hitting it since, but today i flored it in first and bam! 7800 was my highest Rev. so its like it comes and gose i dunno but im taking the car to a drift event in two weeks and it would be nice no to over rev it everytime i slide. any suggestions? sorry if the post dont make much since im tired so it makes sence to me.

Well, what motor do you have?

My RB25 hits it at 7200 but I have accidentally pushed it to 8500 with the rear wheels spinning. You can buy an aftermarket rev limiter from Bee*R or HKS there's more, I just cant remember them all. I think HKS' is the Fuel cut defender (cuts fuel) and Bee*R's cuts the Ignition. If your planning on getting engine management there just a waste of money. (IMO)

You can use more throttle control to keep the revs down, u shoudl stay in the powerband anyways.

yea htaht woul;d be col but my peak power is prety high my power band dosent really kick in untill 6grand anyways so keeping it down might be a little hard while sliding i jsut dont want to over rev it.

i dont know about either of those products but if the hks cuts fuel that is not how you rev limit a turbo car thats how you blow it up. if you were gonna buy something like that you need to make sure it does ignition cut.

the hks fuel cut defencer is for removing stock rev/speed limiters not adding them...

You should try this:MSD DIS4 (has Soft touch)http://www.msdignition.com/ign...5.htmSoft touch Rev Control- Takes out ignition instead of fuel. (which is dangerous) Nice because of the 2step launch control too.http://www.msdignition.com/rpm_2.htm

rev limiters on RB's are ****ing horriblethey pull almost 20 degrees of timing

just modulate your throttle. when i hit my limiter while drifting it feels like i hit the brakes.

I don't believe that they pull back the timing.

Soft Touch REV Control

The DIS-2 and DIS-4 both feature an adjustable built-in Soft Touch Rev Control to protect the engine from overrev damage caused by missed shifts or broken driveline components. This feature produces a smooth rev-limiting action by randomly dropping one cylinder at a time and then refiring that cylinder on the next firing cycle. This feature is easily adjusted with simple program switches mounted on the side of the unit.

Two Step Module Selector

The Two Step function of the MSD Digital DIS Ignition allows you to activate a low rpm limit while staging and waiting for the light to turn green. This popular feature gives you a distinct advantage over your competition by permitting you to control your engine’s rpm precisely before every launch. With a fixed rpm limit at the starting line, each launch will be consistent and quick! The rpm limit is easy to adjust in 250 rpm increments with switches built into the side of the housing.

not having a rev limiter wasent a big issue this past weekend but the track was slower and what not once i get it on a raod couse with some good third gear it would be nice to have some kind of limiter.
