Since we're on the discussion of brakes and you brought up ABS...I just need to check because my truck is strange. I thought if you had ABS you HAD to have 4-wheel disk brakes. But my truck has drums in the rear and it has ABS....
Having 4-wheel disk brakes and ABS are totally unrelated. Taking a look at my four vehicles:
2007 Versa: front disk, rear drum : ABS2006 Sienna: front disk, rear drum : ABS2005 Tundra: front disk, rear drum : ABS2000 Dakota: front disk, rear drum : rear ABS

To that he replied, oh yeah this has 4 wheel disk and this one has ABS. When we got out of the car I pointed to the rear wheels and said "those are disk brakes??" Oh he says, I thought they were disks but I guess it has drums. The dealers don't know $hit and will tell you whatever they think you want to hear. I feel like I know this car in and out without even purchasing it. The dealers should really know their cars, but in this day and age there is no excuse for being an un-informed consumer.
x2Before making a car purchase, I research the car thoroughly. In this day and age of internet and search engines, it is so easy to find out a lot about a vehicle, even finding out what owners say, like we are doing here. There are auto magazines and you can always ask owners at work or on the street. I have bought a lot of cars, and I am always way more knowledgable about the car than the salesperson. I could write a book about all of the BS told to me by salespeople that I knew to be totally false. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. Anyone who relies on a salesperson for any facts or information about a car is a fool.
