No RCA aux audio or video jack?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I just got a QX50 after trading my G37 and went to use the aux audio input jack and....there isn't one? :wtf2:

There are three filled holes where they used to be. I can't believe they would remove that. Anyone know if it's possible to retrofit?

Also, the ipod integration doesn't seem to work with my 6th gen ipod. It charges, but no playback functionality comes up. Anyone else had this problem?

When you say filled, I believe you mean there's a visible circular indent where the plugs should be, not that they've been plugged up. Can those jacks be retrofitted? Probably not.

Have you checked the QX50 owners manual to confirm the compatibility of the firmware on your iPod? Is your firmware up to date?

It appears to me that you should be using a USB jack and not the antique audio jacks that your old car had.

Page 248 of the PDF, lists the instructions of how to play an iPod in your new car.

Thanks, I will check the firmware version. I'm familiar with the operation, but it wasn't working with my wife's old ipod. Our previous Infiniti worked fine with it. Maybe she just needs a firmware update on that dinosaur.

I do experience a rather annoying bug using my own iphone, where the track name does not update when switching songs though. Old infiniti did that too. You have to change menus and change back, and then the display will update (for example, switch to map view, then back to aux). I can't believe that bug still exists.

As for the Aux jacks, they are obviously for non-usb storage devices. Most other vehicles have an aux in, so I don't understand why they wouldn't just continue to include them.

Updating the firmware indeed worked.
