OK so I decided to turbo the Ka24e I had in my car a while back, and got everything together, and I thought everything was fine with it, because I left for 5 months after it was done, and finally got to drive when I got back. took it to the drag strip the other day, and got .5 sec faster than stock. so Im not making much more power than stock ... 10hp maybe on 6psi from a T3. Im searching through the options for a solution.

I know that I have a few small boost leaks. I would think this would suck some power out of it, but not much.

Im thinking that it might be the butterflys, and if they are slightly closed would act as another throttle body, and there would be a pressure drop across them into the cylinder.

but other than that, and running rich with an FMU Im running out of idea fast.ThanksSteve

Are you having any ignition problems...misfires or anything? When I went turbo, I guess my stock coil was a little weak, because it wouldn't pull hard in the upper rpm's when under boost. I got an aftermarket coil, and it pulls much smoother now.

I did, I had terrible problems, and I still have slight problems. I just did an overhaul of the entire ignition system, I didnt change the coil, but probably should have. what unit did you go to? Ive considered it many times before, but havent acted on it.

I guess Ill spill the beans about how bad it actually is. so I ran a 17.5 quarter on my SOHC stock. then I installed turbo, and am running 6 psi or so, and came down to a 17.0 maybe a little less than that if I had not been too embarassed to take a second run.

boost leaks will kill your power. you have a few small ones so lets say thats one nice size leak. when i blow off an intercooler pipe the car falls right on its face, cant hardly go anywhere if you touch the gas pedal. fix the leaks, it will also help your throttle response

I think the leak might be in the saab sidemount that Im running, so Im going to fab up some new pipes that go directly to the tb, and see how that works.

you've really gotta look at replacing that stock exhaust.. its probably a big reason why your car is still slow

if your car ran stock a 17.5 theres something diffenately wrong... i ran stock 15.5 with no bolt ons.. and all emission controls removed.. with a stage 2 clutch and a stock VSLD and advance timing... so theres something definately wrong with your motor.. you should have checked before you turboed it.. made sure it was fine...
