No Power Under Load

Hey, I just finished doing a head gasket and had to set the timing. Before the head gasket was done the car idled and ran fine. I was able to get the timing good to where it idled fine at around 600-700 rpm and sometimes it would bog down to 400 then go back to the 600-700. When i finally took it out on the road to try it, it had no power, i pinned the gas and it wouldnt go anywhere, it was if i was still giving the car almost no gas. Im out of ideas, if anyone can help it'd be much appreciated. Thanks.

Do u mean timing chain timing or distributor timing? I was trying to set the the timing for about 2 hours with a light and the car kept idling like crap.
