Heres my problem. i bought the car a week ago, and i told the owner to take his stero system, bc i have my own, usually with all my past experience i have no problem trouble shooting this type of problem. my head unit will not turn on, ive tried pretty much everything, i checked the fuses, connected and reconnected the wiring harness. plugged my head unit into another vehicle to make sure it didnt fry and it turned on there... i have a few images of my wiring setup. hopefully someone can help me. thanx.[URL=http://www.imageshack.us][URL=http://www.imageshack.us][URL=http://www.imageshack.us]

Go through and yank every fuse one by one and check it. I had the problem last time hooking up a friends head unit and it was a blown fuse that i skipped twice.

Go buy a kit from walmart.Cost $20,Gives you a bunch of connectors, some crimpers, a test light, battery post cleaner, But if you have a test light there you go.3 of my idiots friends ignored me again.Told them to wait for me to install his system. All 3 tried it and could not get it to work for 3 days.Finially I got him over and used my test light. No power....Even hooked to positive and the ground I'm stumped....Well figured that the factory ground is messed up somehwere so ran a piece of wire to battery and tested it and it work fine for power but HU still doesn't turn on.Come to the conclusion that it is fried, due them shorting a couple wires and blowing a few fuses. But it was working 2 nights ago.I'm sitting there thinking looking at the harness and notice that, there was no fuse in the HU.Grabbed a 15amp fuse put it in it fired right up.After this the factory ground worked again but it was still lose so just capped it off and used my new line. There was 2 problems at hand. One being it would never work due to the fuse not being in the HU.Second the factory ground was not constant.

you might have to make a new ground... the stock ground was not enough for my deck, i just added a new ground wire which i ground to a bolt on shifter plate under the boot... this will probably help you

Problem Sovled. Nissan has a weird way of wiring the remote turn on wire(constant) for the head unit and had it tied to the interior light fuse... which was blown. plugged a new 15 amp fuse in and blew it straight away... so i figured the problem was i had not enough grounding so i re-ran the ground the second time to the one hint of tying it off to the metal plate under my shift boot. replaced the fuse with another 15amp, blew that one.... felt like i was getting sucker punched..... so one more crack at it un powered the who car... battery and all... checked all the wireing and taped off some questionable spots, and put a 25amp fuse in the light fuse port and now everything turns on and works fine..... after a week of hardship with no sound. which for me is a difficult way to drive. its finnally working. thanx to all your help guys! ill post a photo monday night when i return from the beach for you to saee the new spot i created for the head unit also which gives the car some different stlying over the plain same way everyones elses is.
