Hi, I'm slowly trying to work out all the electrical gremlins in my car before it's on the road. After fixing my w/s wipers(combo switch was keeping them on), I'm moving on to my interior lights.
I don't seem to have any power at my accessory fuse panel(under d/s dash). My dash lights are out(yes I have hud), along with climate control lights, and interior lights. My e-brake, seatbelt, cruise, H/L retract, and door warning LED's and chime work. (along with horn, auto-seatbelts, power windows, sunroof, headlights, wipers). Everything else is out. I started by checking the fuses in the engine bay and under the dash:all of which have continuity.
Next I checked for voltage at the tops of the fuses: going off a body ground, I didn't measure any voltage! So I unplugged the ignition harness(coming from the steering column) and found +12V and a ground. So referenced from this ground, I *still* could not see 12V on any of the fuses under my dash. FYI, the engine is out. I thought I missed a ground, but unless this ground on the ignition is isolated, it shouldn't have mattered, right? Isn't at least *one* of the above mentioned circuits powered from this fuse panel?!?
So for starters, can anyone tell me where the fuse panels gets it's battery supply from? Is it the two ~12+ AWG wires tapped directly off the battery terminal? Are these the two large single-conductor connectors under my dash, to the side of the fuse panel? I think they are snaked across the front of the car, behind the 1/4 panel, then thru the firewall. The FSM isn't real clear about these connectors, other than stating they go to the engine room harness.
Any insite? Oh and FWIW, the dash/interior lights were out before i pulled the motor.
