I just swapped a newer KA24DE into my 89 hatch, and I got it started with with starter fluid, but the fuel pump wasn't cutting on, but the ecu light was on. So I cut the black pink fuel pump ground wire by the battery, and grounded it by the battery to get the fuel pump to cut on. With this wire grounded the fuel pump now cuts on, but the ecu led goes off, and I have no spark, unground the wire and the ecu led cuts back on, but the fuel pump doesn't cut on. Connect the black and pink wire back like stock, and the ecu led cuts on but the fuel pump doesn't cut on. Another issue, is when I cut the head lights on, and the horn blows, not sure if they're related issue. I have swapped out pretty much all of the green and blue relays thinking maybe one was bad, from one of my other 240's and had no issues, still no luck.

Anyone think of anything to possibly try to get the ecu to stay on, and fuel pump to cut on?

ThanksJames

To swap in an S13 DOHC, the following needs to be done:

-use the coil setup from the DOHC donor car.

-the engine wiring harness and ECU will need to be replaced with one for the S13 DE engine. the dash connector will need to be cut off the SOHC engine harness (where it meets the dash harness), and soldered to the DOHC engine harness in the same location. there will be wires that are left floating so don't worry. all the wires that need to be connected will be color matched. for example: just put red to red, and white to white, ect.

-the MAF from the dohc car will need to be used. the SOHC MAF won't work with the DOHC ECU.

I used all of the DOHC parts, coil, harness, dash harness, everything, it's all wired up the way it should be. The ECU light turns on, but I am not getting spark, and the fuel pump doesn't cut on, so ECU has power, but no fuel or spark. About every relay has been swapped with one off of a running car, but still no luck. Is there anyway to hard wire the fuel pump, and figure out why it is not making spark?

Thanks for the help.

While installig a fresh battery my friend dropped a wrench and sparks flew... now i have no spark... Coil and ignitor are good... but no power from the coil itself
