I unhooked my amp and took my box out about a month ago in working condition. In the process of doing this, I accidently pulled the wire out of the male plug piece that goes from the headunit to the amp so I bought a new one from best buy in the car audio department. I noticed that I didnt have power upon reinstalling everything and I cant figure out why. The blue light on the amp wont come on and nothing is working. I found out that while my box was sitting in my house my little brothers pulled the fuse. I replace it and it sparks when it touches the amp (which isnt good right?) but doesnt blow the fuse. The simple fact that it sparked would mean I have power to the amp right? Could this be a blown amp?

Thanks for the help NICO!--Tim--

P.S. - Im new to the whole electrical world if you havnt noticed so be nice

The sparks could just be the caps getting some voltage. When the stereo is on you should have power to the constant and the turn on wires as well as ground. You should double check that all three of those work properly before you start looking at the amp itself.

Make sure you have a secure connection behind the radio and at the amp on the blue remote turn on wire. Did you pull the fuse on the power wire under the hood? If not and your power wire touched metal/ground, you could have blown the fuse under the hood.

Yea everything looks to be connected the right way. I taped off the power wire so it wouldnt ground out while everything was out of my trunk but checked the fuse anyway and it looks fine. I even replaced it with a spare I had... Ive got nothing...

Well put a meter on the connections at the amp just to be sure. If everything tests ok, your amp is done.
