Hi, my dad has owned several Nissan Frontiers, so he recommended that I get one. Well, I bought an 02 4 cylinder XE Frontier. I have had it three years now, but I am puzzled by something. It has never had any power. It doesn't have low end power or high end power. In fact, all my family members that have driven it have remarked that it is really slow. My dad says that none of his other Nissans were this dissatisfying. The truck has always been reliable, but it has never had any power. Is this a common issue? Should I have the compression tested?

It's a no frills base model truck with 143hp. Kinda hard to tell if there's an issue with your truck specifically....do you know anyone else with a simliar 98-04 truck you could take a spin in to compare?

I had a mechanic look at it again. It turned out that the vacuum hose was unplugged.
