when I give my 240 gas somtimes it boogs down like its not getting any fuel (it does not sputter) but its like it has no fuel, but then it takes off like no problem. it mostly happens when i take off but it also happens when i go around turns (only somtimes).if I floor it going around a turn it will start to get side ways but then the rpms will drop and it will sift to 2nd gear with no rpms (its like taking off in 2nd gear from a stop no power till i get my rpms back up). I'm sure it's not the trany, i know it's a fuel problem. i've changed the fuel filtr and ran fuel treatment thru but still no change . what else should i check before i change my fuel pump!!!! thanks.

airflow meter harness near the airflow meter. wiggle it with the car running see if it starts to die out also wiggle the harness going to the injectors see if that causes the idle to stumble.

checked both airflow meter and injectors nether are the pro. but right after my check eng. light came on had it check its the knock sensor. but they told me its not the sensor but a short in the harness. could that be the problem with my power loss?

the knock sensor does not trigger a check engine light. None of the nissans or infiniti's trigger a CEL for the knock sensor so you had to have had another code? I really think you have something going on electrically somewhere. yes the knock sensor will retard timing a bit and reduce power but not to the point of total loss it will be very slight.

check your airflow meter voltages. should be about 1.3to 1.5 volts at idle and sweep above 4.0 volts when accelerating. also check the ground circuit to the sensor as well shouldnt have more the .02 volts dropped on that circuit.

Just a quick thought could your problem be in the caty. converter? I've heard of powerloss when then become clogged.

brand new cat back sys. dont think its that. I found some wires that go to my dist. cap looks like they fell and rubbed on the pulleys would i have to replace the whole wire harness or is there a way i can splice new ones for the dist. cap .that would defantly cause my car to boog down like that.

believe they go to the crank angle sensor in the dist. I would just splice in new of similar gauge wire. See if that helps.

will try. think it would be best to go to a junk yard and cut the wire harness off another 95 240?

depending on where the wires are rubbed through. might be easier just to splice exisiting. If you go to the junk yard price out a new distributor while your there if cheap enough might be best bet to replace whole thing. I'd just splice new wire in though.
