no power steering... searched.

bought my sr swapped 240 with no power steering. the pump and all the lines are there and in the right places but there was no belt. i bought the belt at napa and put it on to find out i still have no p/s. the pulley spins freely, i seached all over and couldnt find anyone with no power steering when the pump is hooked up. it looks like the pump is not pulling the fluid down since the fluid is right up to the top. could the pump be bad? i thought if it spins ok its good. also its an s14 sr with an s13 p/s pump. thanks in advance.

tighten the belt on the ps pump.

belt is nice and tight. the p/s spins nice and freely. im pretty lost since everything looks to be working ok.

TTT. anyone know how i could test the pump to see if thats the problem?

personally, i would loose the pump, disassemble the rack, snip the seal, and hook up a single fill line and reservoir and keep it full of p/s fluid. But thats just me i like the feel of a manual rack and no possibilities of p/s cavitation or cut out.
