O.K. fellas...this has got me pissed . Has this happened to any of you Newer Z's out there?(mine's 2007) So I'm driving down the freeway, doing bout 60mph, go to shift into 5th gear, and BLAM...can't accelerate and engine won't go above 2,000 rpm's. Pull to side of freeway, and curse the heavens for buying another foreign P.O.S. (swore I would never buy another Jap car after going through the grinder with a 1999 eclipse...Took 6 months to turn it back in under the lemon law...6 months, 7 trans.) Turn the car off, and sit for about 5 min while calling roadside assistance. Start the car, and it runs fine...what the F..K happened?? It's at the dealer, but they can't get to it until Monday. Any clues from those of you who are mechanically inclined?

So, you were accelerating to highway speeds and shifted to 5th and then the car would not accelerate anymore?? Then it ran fine after sitting for a few minutes?? That's kinda strange, but, these cars are drive by wire....meaning, there is not a cable that the gas pedal moves to open the throttle bodies, just a sensor. If I had to guess, I'd say it had something to do with that OR if you have traction control or VDC, it may have been tripped somehow thinking the tires were losing traction (bad sensor) Doesn't sound major, I'm sure your Z will be just fine I know this has to suck b/c the car is brand new, but, electronic components have a very unpredictable life span. Hopefully it is a simple faulty part. Let us know what happens. Oh, and I have an '07 with about 1,400 miles so far....no problems.
