So ya. I fixed my ignition timing, dead on now. New plugs, coils bolted down properly, good spark. I'm running only a down pipe, a half tank of 6month old 93 octane and no O2 sensor. I tried driving the car and it has absolutely NO power whatsoever. My boost gauge was reading about 7lbs at 3.5k rpms and the car was barely moving. I've riddin in faster cavaliers (automatic at that). Could any one please give me any insight into why my car is being like this? Oh yeah, few more things. The car blows a decent amount of smoke (blue, so i'm guessing oil?) whenever i rev the car around 3k and then it'll slowly subside when i let it idle. The only thing i haven't really checked yet is the compression and supposedly the company who i bought it from gave it a compression check and it checked out OK, but they never gave me any compression numbers. HELP PLEASE!

maybe put new gas in it, cuz that gas is bad, and put a o2 sensor in it, you cant really see how the car is running if its not complete and you cant even run it on decent gas.

Yeah, bad gas can be a huge issue...

I've had cars buck, stall, die, won't get out of their own way... simply because of bad gas. Got 5 gallons of 93, put in a full bottle of Redline Fuel Treatment, and held the RPMs at 3-4k best I could (had to keep jabbing the throttle). After about 5-10 minutes... it finally started to idle normally... bad gas is evil... EVIL I SAY!

Oh, and you definitely need an O2 sensor if you're running the stock ECU. ECU will freak out and make you run PISS rich if there is no O2 for safety reasons (rich > lean for engine life)

well he didnt say anything about black smoke so its not running that rich. But an o2 and new gas should make a little of a difference. check the compression and if thats all good then check the ecu for codes. get the engine all together and see if that dont help out though. let us know about compression test and what you get when pulling codes and we should be able to help a little more at that point

Without all that's been suggested above it'd be hard to say for sure what's wrong but if you're seeing a lot of oil smoke right as the turbo is hitting its pace, and no oil smoke when its not spooling... you might want to take off the outlet from the turbo and see just how much oil is in your intake tract.

Tricky issue! Very tricky. I've had this issue with one of my cars and it got so frustrating, that it drove me to buy a standalone (I just got fed up). But in any case, the bad gas will not affect your total zip and go. I mean it should still get going when boost comes in. Do exactly what Trigger says and watch out for a stupid ecu. Some of them are dumb and for some reason or another, they don't advance the car's timing when it sees the extra air. Double and triple check everything because sometimes it could be the simplest things, but then again we're talking about the CA and nothing's all that simple.

well the car is running really rich or at least i hope that's what's causing the car to shoot flames. It happens whenever i rev the car up to 3.5krpms and let off the throttle right away. The engine starts revving down and then a few little pops and a BANG BANG BANG (with flames).

Your TPS maybe out of range and you are definitely running rich.

does that mean its broken, someone put it on wrong, or its out of range because my o2 is connected? i haven't tampered with the TPS.

Did you do a diagnostic on your ecu? Check the codes and see what it says. They usually get damaged during shipping.

wait...you should have told me about the flames i could have told you exactly what to do...mine did this too...take out your injectors and sake them in carb cleaner for about 30 minutes and then put them in....more then likely you got a clogged one. my car did what you said only it did get back at the top end just had no lowend...try that if everything checks out ok with the stuff i told you to do earlier

That sounds EXACTLY like how mine is. It sorta seemed as if my car was starting to speed up as i got near 4krpm but i was afraid to go any higher because i didn't want to break anything, so i'd just shift early. I'll try that. Actually, i've got a set of 450's laying around. Could i put those in instead? Or would i need some sort of fuel managment to run 'em?

hmmmmm. I know my car pops alittle when I shift, but I thought that was normal with no cat and a 3 inch exhaust. Now with the BOV, I get a good bang everyonce and a while. But, My car has lost opwer to, But I assumed that that is just to the blown turbo.
