no power in first gear?

Hey guys im new to this site so I guess I might as well say hi! I just bought my first 240sx, actually i had an 03 350z before but
its a long story why i dont have that anymore, ANYWAYS! I got an issue with this 240, it aint got s*** on first gear but the rest seems to be fine, when i start on first gear i can just feel the rpms just drop. then slooowly pick up. any sudgestions? oh btw i looked at other
topics related to this but all the ones I found were about automatics and i have a 5 speed so I thought I might as well ask.

Suggestions/advice from any car gurus are welcome.

When's the last time the car was maintananced? Are the plugs clea? Is the IAC/V clean? Is the Throttle Position Sensor working properly? Is the EGR free of excessive carbon buildup? All of these things can add to this type of problem.

Honestly I dont know about the maintenace of this car, got it from the auction and it was the only problem that I had with it. Thanx for replying though, ill check up on your pointers!
