Anyone have any idea as to why this could be? Since I got my Z in Sept '07, the front speakers haven't worked, so I figured they were just completely gone. Well, last night I picked up some Sony speakers. Not the best in the world, but they sound amazing to me, and they were $90 for four. The rear 4x6s made a world of difference. But when we were trying to install the fronts that's when we realized they had no power going to them and they weren't just totally blown. The fuses are all good. Thanks for any help.

P.S. It's a 1991, NOT Bose.

Did you check behind the deck to see if the wires were ok? maybe the fronts are disconnected or have a short somewhere

A while ago I took it out and they looked fine, but I'm not expert. Waiting on my friend to get back from Thanksgiving break so we can figure it out...

Well, i mean this in no disrespect, just asking, did you check the fader and make sure that its set so that the speakers get sound. Once that's out the way, i would look at the wires as stated. You could possibly test this hooking up new wire to the unit and new speaker while its out the dash and seeing if it works. If not the units bad, any idea on how old it is BTW

None taken, fader has been adjusted - it was my first possible solution attempt a looong time ago lol. Thanks for the tips. The car was produced in '90 as a '91 and it's the stock head unit, so I can only assume it was never replaced.

See above.

Also, my buddy and I still haven't had a chance to get this worked out. We'll take a look after Christmas break.

If its original, i would think the unit is bad, i mean its worked for a LONG time.
