no power for headlight and bright only on one side???

Vehicle in question, 96 200sx ser. Both headlights and brights used to work then one day I noticed the bright light didn't work. No power to the high bream part of the light so I couldnt figure it out so I just spliced into the p/s high been wire. Now I have no power to the low beam and kinda don't want both headlight and bright spliced in from the p/s. Is there a relay for ds and ps? im kinda confused why it'd only one side.
