hey guys i just walked out to go to work yesterday and out of no where my windows dont go down my turn signals dont work and my gauge cluster doesnt work either i was thinking it's my alternator or alternator fuse cuz everytime i start it up it squeals for a mintue then stops, and when it squeals it seems like the car is about to stall out but i hit the gas and it idles up again. so im sure its a charging system problem i just need a second opinion.

also how hard is it to replace a/c lines in an S13 cuz mine have a huge hole in them and i want new ones so i can have a/c. also how much do they usually cost (ballpark?).

Check your battery cables, both power and ground. I had a similar issue in my s14 where none of my accessories worked. It turned out that my positive cable went bad, so I replaced it and it work fine.

As far as AC, I cant tell you

depends on where the hole in the line is.One of the A/C lines goes behind the motor. so if you motor was out, it'd be way easier. but I'm sure you can remove certain sections from it.

ok i'll check the cables but the alternator seems sketchy just by the way it squeals everytime i start the car then again that could be the belt too.

and it's the line down by the fire wall on the driver's side i can look down under the hood and see the huge gaping hole in the line. i just dont know if i can replace it in sections or if i need an entire line.

kk i replaced the alternator and everything was good...for a day. i put my old belt back on cuz i couldnt afford a new one right away and everything wored good then it just quit on me while i was driving all my accesories and speedo and tach stopped working again and it squealed really loud even when everything was working, so i bought a new belt hoping it would fix everything. but it didnt nothing still works and my windows are stuck down also. also my battery light is on it's super dim and you cant see it in the light but at night you can see it's on so at this point i have no idea what to do and i need some help.

as RJ was saying, you need to check your battery cables from positive to altenator and ground to chassis....

Check your alternator fuse and see if that is okay

what s13lover said as well as that get an ohm meter and check your battery and see if it is dead if the car ran awhile and fuse was blown it wont charge your battery so it could have drained it as well..... also you can start the car and remove one of the cables to the battery and if it dies than your alt, isnt chargeing hope that helps

ok the fuse is good its not blown i was thinking it could be a bad ground but i havent tested yet. also now my injectors arent working i pulled them out cuz i friend wanted to try them on his single cam and when i went to put them back on i started the car and now it doesnt run so my headache just got so much bigger.

one more thing is a Nissan instructor at my school (UTI) said it could possibly be my ignition swith has gone bad like the contacts of the accessory position have gone bad but idk.

alright i checked my cables and theres no voltage being dropped along them i also checked power and ground to the alternator and everything is cool with that, however i tested the battery, i took my positive DMM lead and put it on the positive battery post and took the negative DMM lead and put it on the case in a few different spots and found that i'm dropping almost 8 volts across the case it's 8v in one spot 6v in another and like 2v in another. i did all that with the cables disconnected and the car off obviously so i'm thinking thats my problem. does anyone else think that this would cause my accessories not to work?

It's mostlikely your battery, it's probably sulfated and will not hold a charge and it's just completely draining when running. Replace the battery or borrow one and try it again.

kk swapped batteries and it still doesnt work. so i cleaned mine with water and baking soda and when i put it back in the car wouldnt start it just sounded like it popped a circuit breaker or something so i put the other battery in and the car runs so i think my battery is f*** now, anyways i also tried fixing ground on the alternator i sandwiched the eyelet on the eend of the wire between 2 washers and tightened it down and tht still doesnt work. i tested the battery ground cable and it's fine. idk how to tell if my alternator fuse is bad cuz its a different style 75a fuse and i dont have another one to swap. so at this point i am completely lost and have no idea what to do my only thought now is putting my original alternator back in and seeing if tht does anything if anyone has any other advice or suggestions by all means let me know cuz im at my wits end with this car

i also forgot to mention that i did the test where u pull the negative battery cable off while the car is running and my car stayed on so i assume that means my alternator is good, if thats true then i really have no idea whats wrong with this car.

Start traceing wires guys, start from the middle with the Multi meter and check the power at the fuses to make sure there is/is not power and follow it back from there. We just had to do that on a BMW 328IC and traced it back to the EWS Module, it was confusing because we had it plugged in and according to the diagnostics there was no issue with the module but there is. Good Luck
