So, today i was coming home from school in a rush to get to work on time. I acidentally ran a red light from a stopping position thru a MAIN street. 4 lanes, 2 way, and also a highway exit.... Nearly got hit. scared the crap outta me. . after reaching half way, i got like 10 cars honking at me so i floored it and just went on shaking my head and thank god i didn't get hit.

Then some white limo driver who didn't even drive a limo... but those short ones that looked like it was for a funeral, pulled up and flicked me off. So of course, being asian and having a roadrage problem, i pulled up to him on the next light and gave him my own finger. He got a on his face and had the NERVE to throw a whole bunch of change at my car. I got hit by a penny in the face and a whole bunch of small scratches on my driver side door *now let me add, this is my first sign of roadrage in about 3 years since i got my license [age 16 till now]* He pulled off and i was so heated. I was so mad, i tail gated him for a whole 4 blocks on a main street. Once we hit the intersection, both our cars were first, I waited right before it was green and returned the favor with a half empty snapple bottle to his passenger side window. drove off and laughed at the sucker cause I had no license plate since I only had my car for a few months. only a temporary permit sticker with no info =)

I second that sentiment... but I'll go one step further. Lucky the fool didn't have a gun. Road rage used to be a simple thing. One guy does something dumb. The other guy flips him off, and goes on his way. These days, there are too many idiots out there who carry anything from bats to hand guns. You just never know who that guy is going to be.

A few years ago I had a guy cut me off. I paid him the single digit salute, and he pulled up on my passenger side at the next red light... got out, and before I could lock the door, he had it open, and began to lean in the truck, yelling all sorts of choice words at me. I stayed calm, and, while keeping my eyes locked on his, reached to my belt, where I kept a good sized Buck knife, and pulled it out nice and easy. He wasn't paying attention because he was so interested in what he was saying. He was beginning to lean further into the truck about the time I clicked that pig sticker open. He heard the click, looked down and back up... he got pretty quiet, and his expression changed. I just kept looking at him and calmly asked him, "Now what?"

He didn't have much to say after that, and exited the truck just about as fast as he had entered it. I can't say whether I would have used the knife or not, but my point is that you just don't know what someone has, how stable they are, or how they are going to react to you.

I'm glad that your situation ended without any more damage than a couple of chips in your paint, but had you just let the guy vent his anger and go on his way, you wouldn't even have that. I'm not judging... and god knows I've had my own share of displays of temper in my youth, but you gotta pick your battles. As scared as you were, he was likely just as startled.

^what he said.....I too used to do some stupid stuff (slight road rage) when I was younger, I don't anymore.....at least I try VERY HARD. It takes a lot of self discipline at times.

Roadrage will get you killed on certain HWs...be careful! It's not worth it. You should have given him the "I'm an idiot wave", and all would have been fine. Lesson for next time.

Besides the g is fast enough to outrun most cars out there, unless he's driving a vette or a porsche,or atleast fast enough and handles well enough to make it not worth to someone driving one of those cars. Just find the nearest police officer if the next person escalates it from a one fingered salute to a, I have a .45 type of deal. Most I've gotten is people cutting me off,and me repaying them that favor by boxing them in. I used to get so pissed,so now I stopped doing that. It's also truly unhealthy for you too, heart rate shoots way up,blood pressure too,and most cases in those situations you make even worse decisions and your reaction times are slower. Luckily that's all that happened between the two of you.

ohh i did the friendly sorry hand gesture. but of course, he was some jackass who had to make a big deal out of it. Plus i think before i do things, or atleast most of the time, and judging by his look, he didn't look like a person that would have done anything worse than throw coins at me. I need to get me one of those bumper stickers that say "Keep honking, Im still reloading" and stick it on my back bumper under my skyline letters =)

my, my...consider yourself as very lucky; if you did that where i live, you would have been under 6ft now. if you cannot control your road rage, you are better off from the road.

i am not sure why you mentioned the other driver "white" and you referred yourself as "being asian and having a roadrage problem". you are only making other good asians look bad.

i suggest you need to look for help. being young and stupid will only make your life measurable.

btw, you can still be caught because there won't be many cars of your description with a temp license plate, and as the other guy saw you, you could be easily convicted. if you are convicted, i think you are well deserved. if not, then you will get yourself killed sooner or later by another idiot like you

I'm sure a moderator could tell you this, but I think he realizes his actions are negligible, and understands it probably wasn't the best way to handle that situation, and I'm sure would've done it differently if he could've. So that being said, don't know you, don't really care to know you, all I can say to you is this.. Judge not lest thee be judged first. So please keep your comments about how you think people are,and how you feel about them to yourself. No need to call people out and name call. I think most people told him it wasn't a wise move, and probably shouldn't have been done. I think all, also found a more constructive less insulting way to do it.

sure, nublet's was negligible & he or she thinks that it wasn't the best way to handle it unless i missed something between the lines. from the title of the story, it is certain that nublet was proud of what he or she did in his or her story. of course, i could be wrong.

indeed, throwing half empty snapple bottle (afaik all snaaples bottles are made out of glass & quiet heavy) to the passenger side window & ran off thinking impossible to be caught was negligible actions.

besides of legal technical view point, if i were nublet, i would consider myself as reckless, irresponsible, and cowardly. the op was asking for it...didn't he or she?

btw, Judge not lest thee be judged first applies BOTH directions

You weren't being judged, but you still are judging nublet. The comments you made about him/ her were uncalled for. Regardless of what he or she felt, or whether or not they are proud doesn't matter. Yet there you still go calling that person cowardly. No one is debating the fact that it was wrong, there are other ways of pointing it out though without calling names.

thanks for NOT judging me & the op

i must be speaking different language from you as you one time considered the op's action as "negligible", and then you are saying "the fact that it was wrong"? doesn't negligible mean something so small & meaningless that it's worthless to consider? i just don't understand your point.

would you be against me if i praised the op's action? if you did, wouldn't it consider "judging" others by your standard? if you feel you shouldn't, then what's the point of having this thread?

anyway, here is my "sorry, i am an idiot" hand wave

Just a small tangent...Snapple do have plastic bottles. My mom sells both glass and plastic bottled Snapples at her store. Though, theplastic bottling appears to be a new thing. Perhaps they are migrating to them.

thanks for standing up for me. though i admit it was a cowardly thing to do and i was scared to sh*t, it was merely a sign of road rage which im not very proud of. But now when i think back to that moment, i do get a little smile on my face just wondering how the limo driver reacted

it was near Carl's Jr down on market. right behind the Bank of America, it leads to a T crossing where you have to turn right on O'Farrel and Powell.l.

for the record, it was heavy glass bottle
