i thought pantera was made by detomasto ? something about a itailian body and frame with american V8 POWER ...almost perfection
i hear ya on the pinto , engine was its best quailty thats the only part of the car that lived on (till 1993) , that engine with a turbo powered one of my favorite cars , the 1985.5 mustang SVO
even the vega had some awesome things about it , how bout the cosworth vega ? twin cam cossie head on the alumium block with teflon coatings as sleves instaed of cast iron sleves , coarse even base vegas had that teflon aluminium block , in order to be rebuilt and honed or bored out it would have to be done at a GM certified facility.
pacers have a interesting story , did you knowafter GM played with the rotary that AMC got the patent or right from them and began playing with rotarys? they had to make a new comapct for the rotary ,the pacer. the car started out 8 inches narrower than it ended up and had that wicked low hood line since it had the rotary . well in the end amc couldnt make the rotary work the way they wanted it and gave the rights up to mazda , the pacer grew 8 inches wider and sported a 4cyl (courtesy of audi) that leaned to one side (chryler slant 6 style) to clear the low hood .....
