Alright.. the problems just don't stop my 240 ka-tI'm going to go through the chronology of things and then get to the problem

The first time trying to fire the car up it doesn't fire.. it turns over in a clunk... clunk clunk... clunk.... clunk clunk sound, but it has since gone away and the pistons and head still look good.

After trying to start it I noticed a huge puddle of oil was coming out from between the engine and transmission.

Dropped the transmission and realized the ****ing machine shop pulled a plug for the oil galley and didn't tell me or give me another.

plugged the hole and put it back together. tried to start it again and finally after fixing my timing it runs.

Once it started I looked at my oil press. gauge and it wasn't reading anything at all... like mayb 7 lbs.

I shut it off immediately.

pulled the turbo feed line.. it was dry... cranked the car for a while... still dry

I read on a 240 board that some people had the same problem and it was some o-ring in the front cover. others said it was the oil pickup gasket.

I dropped the oil pan and checked the oil pickup... it's fine.

The oil pump should be fine.. the motor was pulled running. so what am I missing?

the one catch I can't get over is that I had oil pressure at one point in time!!! there is some oil in the turbo return.. and it had to fly out of the oil galley hole somehow. so besides plugging the hole why would the oil pressure go bye bye?

depending on how everything goes i might take you up on that.....

on a different forum some guy had the suggestion they might have pulled the front galley plug as well..

"If they pulled the oil galley plug on the front of the block as well, you'd be losing all oil pressure right out that plug, but it would be just draining back into the pan. The plug is on the passenger side front of the block, about 2 inches above the oil pump inlet."

if what he is talking about is on the front cover could you post a pic of it for me so I can see what he is talking about?

seeing as they left the oil galley plug out, did they even put the piston oil squirters back in? if not that would cause a huge internal leak.

machine shop pulled the front galley plug too so the pump was just pumping into the pan

sucks that you had to redo so much work but it's good to hear that you are getting it sorted out.
