I have been working on my car for the last 4 months now and finally got the motor in and wiring done. I turned the key in the ignition and had my friend check if any oil was coming up and did the 20sec intervals with the ignitor chip off and no oil is coming up to the top. I suck at life so of course my friend warned me if might be the oil pump or worst a spun bearing. I bought the motor from enjuku and their warranty is only for 30 days. My car is on jack stands if that helps at all. I am trying to get a second opinion and find out what is wrong with my car? Is it the oil pump? Can it be anything else? I am also not one to complain and realize my warranty was up but what can I do about this with enjuku?

is the pan dented at all? If not then it probably is the oil pick up/pump

If the pan has even the slightest dent in it take it off and hammer it out, concentrate near the middle of the pan where the oil pick is.

i went ahead and checked the oil pan again and only saw two small dents on the side..so I went ahead and drained out all the oil..I unbolted the oil pan and had to pry that sucker out..it was a pain in the arse...I actually made a bigger bent than anything but when i pryed it open more oil came out in the pan?? should I be worried about this at all? I proceeded ahead and took off the oil feeder and checked if it was clogged but nothing was in the filter. Can anyone else chime in on what else I can do?

When I swap my 1st SR, I had it cranking with my fuel pump fuse disconnected. That will prevent the cylinders from filling up with gas and leaking down to the oil and mixing with the oil. Anyways, I had it cranking for 20 sec each time for like 5x just to be sure oil pressure had build up through the hydraulic lash. Then as I put back the fuse to fire it up , I hear loud tapping sound which is hydraulice lash is still dry. I turned it off after about 3 sec and and fired it up back again and it went away. Engine idled smooth and quiet after that. My guess is the rpm of the starter is not high enough to build oil pressure all the way. If you hear tapping shut if off right away so the turning parts dont heat up , let it cool for a little and start it up again each time till theres no noise. Also use thinnest oil(easier flow)as possible as you will dump it after the engine runs its course to clean out the old oil.

BTW, my oil pan was beaten like a step child but the oil pick up was in perfect condition. As long as that part is ok, it should pick up the oil fine.

the last swap we did, did the same thing. We cranked it over about 30 times started it and it made the dry oil sound but then oil pressure came up quick and the knock went away. Motor has been running great since.

Here are two little tricks that help build oil pressure on rebuilt engines that i've used. One, as someone else mentioned disable fuel supply buy removing the fuel pump fuse. Next remove your spark plugs and crank the engine without the spark plugs installed. What this does is allows your starter to crank without much of a load because the pistons will not compress anything for the combustion cycle, therefore the motor will spin MUCH faster with the starter cranking. Just make sure you disable that fuel pump or you'll have fuel vapor puffing out of your spark plug holes (very dangerous). If that doesn't work, this next method is little more complicated. This requires an air compressor btw otherwise this won't work. You need to use about 30-40psi of pressure, first pinch your crank case breather line. Then you want to remove your dipstick, and place the compressed air blower attachment on the head of the dipstick tube. Next have a helper turn the engine over while you blow compressed air into the dipstick tube, this will basically pressurize the crankcase and help force the oil through the pick up tube for the oil pump.
