Trust / GReddy declares bankruptcy [via AutoBlog]

"Today, one of the world's largest performance parts companies, known as Trust in Japan and Greddy here in the States, declared bankruptcy. According to various reports, Trust is approximately $60 million in debt and, after reporting a serious decline in sales since February 2008 and amassing $43 million in loan payments, filed for bankruptcy in Tokyo District Court."

Wonder what this means about getting a GReddy RB manifold.. Maybe I should have purchased one from RawBrokereage before they went up in August

I was wondering why the greddy manifold jumped up to almost a grand. That explains it all.

Just one less over priced japanese parts company as far as I'm concerned. Paying $25 for one straight 3" intercooler couple just because it had greddy stamped on the side because I can't wait 15 days to get it from summit was really pissing me off. Screw Greddy, HKS, Tomei, and the rest of them. I can't wait until Brian Crower starts making cams for RB's like the SR guys for less than half the price.

O yeah, and trust (greddy) manifolds are the biggest pieces of crap out there. They crack ALL the time. And don't even get me started on e-manage. The only good thing greddy makes is the Profec B boost controller.

Funny thing is that they have their stuff made in China for cheap as dirt then turn around and sell it for one hella mark up. Hmm sounds like money mismanagement.

a little bit of insight into this matter. Since 2000 there really hasn't been any low cost tuneable cars. As in sr20det motors rb's and so on. All day every day i see friggin K cars 50 plates. The days of the old TURBO silvias are fading away. Heck man it's hard as heck to just get skyline JCI and get parts. It sucks in here in shimizu. I normally see altezza boosted and crowns majestas mostly toyotas. i've seen nissans but not that many boosted! It's just a different market here now.

You should head on down to Oki than. Everything is backwards and 10 years behind here!! Good in some respects, bad in most.

This has been debated ad nauseum. It is basic economics.. supply and demand..

Hi, I believe you can substitute 'Oki' for 'Midwest' and still get the point across.

Its official Trust has been denied Bank bankruptcy, just got the call. Everything is going on sale. Hmmm Hey CJmartz that means the over priced Auto shop turbo store is going out of business. That the only contract they they have with their broke az dyno.

Sweet, fire sale!! I really hate AST. They've got one or two things I wouldn't mind having for cheap though. Maybe we should go get on there dyno before they go tits up so we can get some 1600hp dyno sheets, eh?
