The advertisers are the reason we are able to have this site. They pay the money to keep us up and running. I do not think it is fair to offer as an option to everyone, the ability to shut off our advertisers. I'm sure that if you don't like what is happening it would be possible to pay the monthly fee the site costs out of your own pocket to avert such "incoveniences", but if that is not possible I would surmise that you would just have to live with the status quo.

Don't mean to be a **** about it, i just don't think most people realize the amount of time and money it takes to make a great thing like this site up and running.

Bottom line is this: yes you may no longer disable the left column and the current plan is to keep it that way.

Nick :)

I know. I thought I would take the world filter out for a little run. I'm glad that there are ads rather than something else. (wheter it be less content or fees)

Even then, they are probaly cached and only have to load from your memory.

John was kidding, and knows the values of our advertisements. However, we (admins and mods) are currently working on some upgrades to the forums, and will be correcting the ads and making them auto-hide when a thread is opened for reading.

I'm all about the sponsors being there, I just wish it would resize the forum properly on my computer, so Nancy, if you're reading this, the left column unsizes the proportions of my screen which makes me unhappy. : (

I know even though I hide the left column, when I think "hey how much is this this or that" i go the nico main page and check out the sponsors links there. I'm sure I cant be the only one. So hiding doesnt neccisarily mean not looking...
