If I'm not mistaken, the 9th is the first day that the Detroit Auto Show opens up to the press. If I'm mistaken, the Nissan Azeal concept will be introduced as well as numerous other goodies.

GM's first Kappa platform car will also be there live and in the flesh. Unfortunately, I think it's going to be the somewhat effeminate Saturn Sky and not the Pontiac Solstice.

Anyone excited? Anyone following this? Personally, I'm hoping that Edmunds or some other big automotive news site has coverage of this show starting on the first day!

Went to the Chicago auto show for about 15 years and stopped going. $10 to get in, you can't open the hood, nobody knows anything about the cars, way too many people walking in front of you or stepping on your feet, and most of the cars are UGLY !But the broads in Chicago are much better to look at than the nasty fat crap in Milwaukee.

ive been going to the chicago show for the last couple years, I always enjoy it. Not a huge deal but got to sit in the new viper last year, a line formed for quite awhile but we always go a little late so the crowd was thinin out and we got in with a minimal wait we where callin it the viper ride when the line was all strung out.

I went to the detroit show last year, its a small drive for me. I usually go to the Chicago show every year. Its really hard to take pics at any of the shows due to the number of people.

The LA Auto Show starts the 7th. I will most likely be going to that.

All of the new concepts and cars can be seen here

I'm sure these are going to be the same cars as the Chicago and Detroit ones.

The Dodge Slingshot reminds me of an Opel Speedster. A LOT slower though. I cant believe Dode made a 3 cylinder car. Looks a hell of a lot better than that damned GEO Metro.

I'm debating if I want to go to the Detroit Auto Show. I went last year and it was decent, but too many people....the models were quite sexy for the most part. I made one laugh during the middle of her talk....oopsie.

I remember the good old days in the 90's when I briefly contracted at both GM and Honda. They would bus us down to the Detroit Auto show and we would get in the day before the show opened to the public. I got to enjoy checking out a lot of cars and concepts unimpeded.

Hmmmm.....I wonder if that will happen to me since I work for Honda now. When does it open to the public anyway?

GM and Honda didn't send everyone to the Detroit show, only those connected with design, engineering, senior execs and marketing people.

The most fun are when they bring you in as "cheerleaders" for mainstage first time production and concept car unveilings. The parties afterwards are amazing.......but don't get drunk, your job is to "spin" the vehicle(s) to the journalists and get them drunk (especially if it is GM party-I was there when the unveiled the production fugly Aztek for the first time).

I'll watch it on speed channel if it comes on. They usually cover those.

Too bad there wasn't enough alcohol in the world for the unfortunate Aztek.

Soooo...edmunds.com is going to have coverage of the show tomorrow. Hopefully the Speed Channel will too. I'm excited to see if the Nissan Azeal concept looks anything like the sketch.
