I was replacing the front over head bulbs with LEDs. Now the lights do not come on or fade off when entering /leaving car. I can manually turn all on at each switch - both front and rear. The foot well lights are not working either. All 4 puddle lights and exterior lights are working. I have pushed every over head switch. 2012, M37x, 26,000 miles.
Thanks. Rob.

It's your BCM, you fried that output. Don't feel bad, I did the same and so did many others. I looked at the diagram and I'm pretty sure you can bridge the output from the door mounted lights if you really want it. I didn't because the door lights are all I like to come on unless I need to look for something.

I still have 5 months of factory warranty. You think they will repair it?

I used to think it was the BCM, because it was the bcm on my Q45. It isn't the same on the M56. It's the entire wiring harness that runs through the body of your car plus a jumper bar that is located across the back of the dash. You could probably repair the wiring but Infiniti sells both parts as one single part. The total I was quoted was close to 3 grand, without labor. If I were you I would tell the dealer that the lights just stopped working and see if they repair it under warranty. Good luck. FYI my dealership repaired mine a few weeks ago (sort of) They jumpered it off what seems like the door handle lights. The interior lights and footwell lights work, but you lose individuality brightness when you open a single door. Cost me 500 bucks to do.

This car with its lack of fuses is overly sensitive to shorts. Very poor design aspect of it. :tisk:

Everyone PLEASE disconnect the negative battery before doing ANY electrical work, even basic stuff.

Thanks for all the replies. Should I remove all the LEDs I installed? These were the last 2 when it happened, I would have to go thru all of them again. Thoughts ?

Yes, remove them all, get the car fixed, then install them all with the battery unplugged.

See this is why modifications on a luxury car make me nervous. I did a lot of modifications to my Chrysler 300 and my Chevy Malibu but I don't think I will be doing too many on my Infiniti. Smh

I have to admit that I had my battery still hooked up for most of my bulb changes. Thankfully I did not short any. But knowing what we all know now about this car using a harness as a fuse, that negative cable comes off before I do any electrical. And I have done a bunch already and had no issues.

There is no reason to fear it, just take the proper precautions. Loosen and remove the negative cable from the battery and all is well.
