ok so i jus bought a 1985 nissan 720 with the z motor, and 5 speed for 200 bux!!!

well i got it home, drove ok, hessitates pretty bad tho..... guessing vacume leakes? anyone got any diagrams on which ones i dont need? i am going to remove everything i dont need........ i dont have to pass smog, so all i need is my motor and alternator...... any one got any pics of theirs or someone elses done like this? maybe someone that races theirs?

and my main problem that i didnt kno bout untill i jus got pulled over, i have no tail lights! no blinkers either! but the brake lights work...... oh and none of the gauges work or light up..... ive checked all the fuses by the kick panell and there all good.... is there any other fuses to check? what else could it b?

I kind of have the same problem but mine kick on after 2 minutes. I am also searching this out. Your problem could be with the dimmer switch on the dash. I will have to check my wiring diagrams. I have a 83 so there is probably some similarities.

when I got my 85 begining of this year, it had no lights back or front, no turn signal (blinkers), and no fuel gauge. All the fuese were good and all the bulbs were good. checks showed the wires to the rear were severed, the control for the wipers and head lights was not working and the fuel gauge wire was broken off at the float. here is what was done. 1 reconnected the wires for the rear going over the diff, did that myself. 2 got my cousin who does electrical work to assist with repairing the switch. 3 used a small all thread bolt and nut to reconnect the fuel wire with the insulation from a 14 gauge wire to prevent grounding, did that myself also. make some checks and let us know the results:dthumb

well i got the lights working! it was just a yellow fuseable wire coming off the battery that was disconnected..... but i still have a slight hesitation, and the spring for my choke arm on the carb is gone, so the previous owner had it wired shut, so i need it fixed by winter... and i would still like that pic of the truck with no vac. lines.... thanks!
