I have a 92 q45, i got it from a friend recently who moved away, when i got it the speedometer and the interior power didnt work just the radio but of course there was no sound due to the amp, the interior lights also work, and when i turn on the headlights all the illumnation comes on, when i got it some wiring over the front passenger side weel were hanging down and rubbing on the wheel as the car drives, now they go all stripped up, i connected each one back together and wrapped them each up with electrical tape, before i fixed that they sparked up if you touched it because alot of the wiring was exposed, for a couple of minues before i wrapped the wires up the everything was working speedometer cluster and windows and all, unfortunately i rolled all the windows down and including the sunroof and the power went back out, i know for sure i secured all the wires, is ther a specific fuse or something i should be looking for?

im sorry bout the typing im not good with words, i hope somebody could help me, i think the altenator went bad because when i disconected one of the battery cables the car turned off

Heheh, well it may be easy, but probably not. Here's the Electrical Section of the 1994 FSM:

Electrical Section of the 1994 Q45 FSM

You should be able to trace that portion of the harness to see what was affected by the exposed wiring. Get familiar with a multimeter - test continuity - pull and test all the fuses. This is gonna take some time - step by step, and you should be able to find where the trouble is.

The sparks ain' good, though. Don' do that anymore.

It's possible that something got damaged but most likely it's one of the fuses under the hood over near the battery. Check the large main fuses as they power the interior circuits. It may be several smaller fuses but most likely one of the larger ones if it is effecting many different circuits.

There is a fuse for the alternator I believe. That could be blown. Just check them all out. On page 8 of that manual section it shows a fusible link box and one of them is wired to the "charging system". That one could be blown. Page 10 shows a photo of what the fusible links look like.

One more thing, please don't ever disconnect the battery while the engine is running. That's a bad thing that can damage electrical components.

If the seats, mirror, sw tilt, door locks don't work check for a brown fuse near the battery.
