No ign relay?

I just picked up a 92 coupe for $750 that barely ran. It won't even start now. I checked the fuses and realized there is no ignition relay there. There is a spot for one but I don't even see the wires that would go into the relay.

Would the engine even run without the ign coil relay hooked up?

I am trying to get this car running so I know what all is wrong with it before I start building it. I will eventually pull the engine and rebuild it with forged pistons.
