well I will try to include everything I know and have done thus far....

ok so I wanted to go FMIC got all the routed, all the couplers on and everything hooked up. However my car will not idle , revs fine infact if I hold the throttle at bout 1k is purrs right along, let off the pedal and it dies, the air/fuel gauge reads lean at all times. I checked all the couplings, even bypassed the FMIC and have a short bit of piping that eliminates the FMIC, this did not help any. there was this heater hose sized hose that originally hooked in the intake tubing, I took the T out that plugged in to the intake, not sure what this hose does but could it be the root of my idle issue? do I need to have this hooked up to the intake?

Thanks

Yeah, that would be it, that hose supplies the air for your car to idle, no hose, no idle

Damesta, your right. the hose supplies air to the idle air control valve. You need to have it hooked up or it wont idle. it needs to be hooked up in the intake track, I think it needs to be after the turbo. but im not sure. Hope fully someone with a fmic will chime in.

thanks guys, that helps out alot, I been trying to figure it out for awhile now hopefully that will fix the issue which is sounds like it will, I also notice the the idle adjustment screw does nothing at this point, maybe it will fix that too.

Yeah, that hose supplies the iacv and air regulator, it needs to be routed after the turbo, usually between the ic and throttle body. If you don't want to use that hose you can just adjust the set screw on your throttle body so it stays open a little all the time. That way you can bypass the whole iacv system. BTW, the idle adjustment screw will do nothing at all if you don't have the iacv hose connected, it won't have anything to adjust.

well I put the stock platic piece that runs to the SMIC on and looped into the turbo out pipe(just for testing) and she still wouldn't idle even with the hose connected where it is suposed to. I messed with my SAFC turned on the DeCel (or what ever it is) changed a few points and I got it to where it would idle, kinda sputters here and there till 1k (no load mind you) I am thinking the IAVC might be bad, also my A//F meter says lean bubt I can smell the fuel and see the smoke of a rich enviroment. and I notice what seems to be oil coming out of the exhaust side of the head. I just installed a cometic and ARP studs.... I am thinking maybe warped head, all my measurements showed flat so I am not sure. time for a comp check?
