Hello everyone! I'm new here and this is my first post on this forum. I have a '99 Qx4 and I hope I will have a good experience on here and get the help I need. And this is my first ever truck/Infiniti. I have many issues with my truck. One being the head lights. The bright lights doesn't work when pushed forward, they go completely off. But they work when pulled back. My brights indidcator light on my instrument cluster is constantly on. Can anyone help me get this solved and tell me what's going on? Thanks in advance.

Do you have HIDs, or regular halogen bulbs?

This is my first truck, let alone, one that may or may not have HID's. I'm not sure. How can I check? I know that when I put my high beams in that the driver side light goes dim while the other goes bright like they should.

Is the light emanating from your headlights somewhat blue-ish?

Okay, remove the current headlight bulbs and make sure they are indeed 9003 bulbs. Having the wrong bulb(s) installed can cause this issue.

Ok. And it should have that number on it?

Yes, it may have HB2 on it as well if you can't find 9003. Try to avoid touching the glass of the bulb itself, or wear gloves during removal. The oils from your skin can cause hotspots and shorten the bulb's life.

Can you swap the driver & passenger side bulbs to see if the problem moves? If it does, the bulb is most likely the culprit and you should replace both at the same time. If the problem remains at the driver's side then there is probably an issue with the wiring or combination lighting switch.

Ok. It was the wiring so I fixed it. The only thing I did was switch bulbs opposite to each other and it still had the problem so I took off the drivers side again looked at it closely. I didn't see anything damage so I swapped the insert that goes to top middle with the side one and tuened on the lights. It didn't come on so I switched them back to their original position and turned them back on, which they came on. Then I turned the brights on snd worked like it was suppose to. The highbeam blue light is finally off. Thanks for your help!
