Heater seems to take extremely long to come on even with engine at operating temp and when it does it is only partially and it cycles on and off repeatedly. Car is otherwise in excellent condition and at 80K relatively low mileage for 1995 Q45t.

Maybe a bad heater door post? That seems to be an issue on the 94+

Have noticed that the condensor fan comes on even at times when the engine is dead cold .

It would be worth your time to run the self-diagnostic in the HA section of your service manual. Maybe a bad sensor?

Don't rely on the oem inside gauge for anything [unless you prove it is close to accurate]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by comparing with a Consult.

The Condenser fan can only come on in a 90Q if the coolant gets above 194F [or a wiring short] or the AC pressure exceeds a number.

This is a 1995. The temp gauge is suspect since needle will peg at bottom for first 5 minutes then usually shoots up to slightly past middle. The heater will blow very hot once operating temp is reached but only for a second or two. The condensor fan will come on sometimes even when the car has just been started at subzero temps and ACC is switched off. Also noticed that ACC seemed to hunt or cycle on off last summer with A/C on.

My other problem is that the rear defroster is not working. Not sure if ties into the other problems but I did a continuity test and it checked out OK.

Hate to admit it, but it was a gallon low on coolant which fixed the problem. I think the radiator cap wasn't sealing properly. Apparently I've been driving around with no coolant in the radiator for most of the winter and probably longer.

You might want to replace the rad cap.

I had similar problems with my truck (yes I know this is an Infin forum) and it turned out to be the cap. The spring was all gunked up and was restricting the flow from/to the coolant reservoir. I was troubleshooting the system and noticed the cap was a mess. After I flushed the cooling system and replaced the cap the dash mounted temp indication was much more consistent and the heat was uniform.
