I was in the showroom for about an hour yesterday looking at the G35 and the I35. I wasn't hassled by any sales people for a full hour!! I even started up the I35 in the showroom (the keys were in the cup holder) a few heads turned but nothing was said. I blasted the stereos, even went out to the car and got one of my own CDs. All the while no one said a word. A salesman came in and before I could fire off my questions he grabbed a cup off his desk and turned his back to leave. It got kinda creepy after awhile.

I left and went to look at an Escalade and before I could park at the Caddy dealer I had a salesman in my rear view mirror approaching quickly and one at the passenger side door. When I said I was just burning time while the wife was at the beauty parlor they had already valued my "trade-in" and were asking about down payments. I said "I don't want to buy an Escalade, I want to look at one.." he said "but I can sharpen the pencil up for you and make the numbers look right!!"

If I could have found a happy medium amongst the sales staff I would have bought a car, either the G35 or the I35. But they gave me time to listen to reason (wife) and lost a sale.

Ha! Good one. I'm surprised that starting the car in the showroom didn't get you the attention you were looking for. I'll have to admit, it is nice to go look around without a salesman hanging over your shoulder... Next time, try chirping the tires!
