No glow behind gauges

98% of the time the gauge cluster glow doesn't work (the grey glow that encompases the whole gauge area). Anyone have any ideas as i've never tore down that area before and am hoping it is a simple wiring problem I can attack from the bottom or something. l8r

There is a layer that sandwhiches behind the bezel that goes around the gauges and plugs into the cluster. It's a small two pin connector if I remember right. I think it's sort of like an indiglo watch dial face. In any case it plugs into something on the cluster, so the wiring diagram won't help you. Mine failed on Q1... never got around to replacing it.

I think you can buy the part from Joe... or it might be cheaper to buy a spare cluster on eBay or from one of our parts cars on NICO. I'm not sure that all years had it... (maybe a 90-93 thing?) so I would confirm that before buying a used part.
