all signals from sensors passes thgrough speed gauge, there is a circuit inside. I removed everything once when attaching LEDs for illuminaiton. If the chips or componets are dead, you can loose the gauges intermitently. Also there is a ribbon cable inside gauge, which carries all signals coming from sockets to speed gauge, that ribobn cable can be the reason too. I broke mine then i fixed it, that is how i know. Once i broke it, only woprking gauges were fule and tempereture. While i am trying to fix the ribbon cable, those are gone dead and tachometer returned back to life, so i removed ribbon cable and reattached it with a new socket so all are working now. Replacign whole culster takes only 5 minutes. If it is same model of yours you can buy and you can replace it own by own. There 4 screws hoding cluster there. Remove them, tilt steering wheel while sliding your gauge oever it, then remove socket behind. There are three of them. That is all.
