That's right. No gas.

I sat in a line at a station yesterday for 45 minutes, only to have it shut down as I was 3 cars from the front.

Last night, near my house, a station got a delivery. There were fistfights, a guy pulled out a bat, a woman got arrested for ramming another woman's car.... People were in line for SIX FREAKIN HOURS (no exaggeration) to buy gas. It's taking 30 minutes to pump 20 gallons...

I rode the damn bus to work today. Quella's chillin' in the garage with an empty tummy. :(

damn.I hate the fact our cars have to rely on some greedy bass-terds a million miles away to beable to run.We are pretty dependant on oil(and it products).I hate it.Gas where I'm at is like $1.78(glad i have a fo' banga').

Did anyone see all of that oil burning in iraq?because of s#ity pipes. The u.s. is losing like 7million in revenues :(

OK everyone has seen the news where they show the oil pipeline and all those flames and black smoke.?

That video shot looks just like the video last time the oil lines caught fire. They could just us show that video once every month and say "yep gas is going up."And we wouldn't know the difference.

THERE IS A PIPELINE DOWN. HERE BY MY JOB IN PHOENIX ON DUNLAP AND I-17 ITS GOTTEN UPTO $3.09 A GALLON WITH THE MAJORITY AT $2.25+.IT'S ALL BULL****, ITS CALLED THE LABOR DAY HIKE.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND IS THE HIGHEST GROSSING FUEL WEEKEND IN THE YEAR SO NATURALLY GREEDY STATION OWNERS HIKE THE PRICE MONTHS BEFORE.... THIS IS THE WOREST IT HAS EVER GOTTEN THOUGH. THE PRICES WILL FALL BACK TO $1.40 WITH IN A WEEK OR TWO AFTER THAT WEEKEND FROM SOME MIRACLE FIX TO THAT 1/3 DISTRIBUTION PIPELINE, AND TO MUCH AMAZEMENT EVERYTHING WILL BE FORGOTTEN AND RETURNED TO NORMAL.

I HONESTLY FEEL THIS CITY NEEDS TO NOT GO TO WORK FOR ONE DAY AND KILL THE ECONOMY SO THAT WE CAN GET THE ATTENTION OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THEY CAN PUT AND END TO THIS ****ING BULL****.

That sucks. Does this happen often out there? Is there a timeframe on when the line will be back up and running?

Glad to be in Indy. It is never too bad here. We are always in the middle and never have any major problems of anything.

My question is not, where is the gas. My question is why do people act so crazy when there is a shortage of something? Example:Indy gets a prediction of snow. People automatically drive to the store and buy all the milk, eggs and bread they can find. Stocking up for weeks and causing congestion in the supermarket checkout lanes. Like four loaves of bread and five gallons of milk will keep you safe in a snowstorm. I am the one standing in line with a case of beer, wondering what the heck is going on. Typically when this happens, we get no snow.

People breaking into fistfights and assault with 4WD is just plain ridiculous. I think that the news sensationalizes everything and is partly responsible for these types of hysteria.

Al this is a good reminder on how thijn the cover of civilization really is.I dont remember who said it ( may have been a bad guy, one of the big Nazis but am not sure:) the next riot is only a meal away, (or it may have been an american actually I am sure someone will correct me).

Anyway, imagine when something ahpens that REALLY disrupts supplies or PPL ability to pay for them.Just 3 Nukes set-off in 3 major metropolitan areas each (say LA, NYC, Chicago), would bankrupt us overnight from the medical costs of caring for survivors and the loss of life and property involved in losing all tha real estate.

Everyone's standard of living would drop to the point, where very few could afford any gasoline at all.

Like I said before in another thread - I'd do JUST FINE in a post-apocalyptic society if it ever came to that.

I'll fill up both vehicles NEXT week (70 gallons+) when prices come back down.

Nope - I'm not a gamer. But I'll check it out!

But I have twice enjoyed 2-week survival camps (once in Joshua Tree National Forest, once along the Payette River in Idaho) and extensive training in negotiations, defensive tactics, threat recognition, etc. Here's hoping I don't ever have to find out. :)

UPDATE - Quella's got a full tank!!!!

I made a late-night recon run last night, and had my scanner on. I heard Phoenix PD discussing the "mob" that was gonna form as soon as the locals found out that this one station (which refuses to raise its prices based on a shortage) was just receiving a load of fuel (2 trucks pumping at once). I was 3 miles away.

Activate VH45DE, baby - I'm there in 2 minutes. I'm fourth in line. 20 minutes later, the line behind me stretches 3/4 of a mile back, and I'm sucking down some sweet, sweet nectar of internal combustion. $1.68 per gallon, and it's 87 octane (first time my car has EVER seen less than 91), but it'll get me through the week.

Driving to work this morning, the freeways are HALF as full as usual. :D

The Phoenix pipeline problem made the headlines in the Northeast pretty quickly. Reminded me of 1973 and the last big gas crisis. For those that remember 1973, it was no fun. Hope you get thru it ok.
